Places

One standard, many landscapes.

Each CELOR campus takes its character from its landscape and from the people who own its suites. The materials, the palette and the calm stay the same.

CELOR Torrey Pines

Torrey Pines, San Diego · by introduction

Planned at the edge of a canyon in the Torrey Pines corridor, a short drive from the coast, the villages and the roads people buy these cars to drive.

Envisioned as 75 or so proposed suites in three buildings, with Enso at CELOR at the far end of a long reflecting basin.

How places are chosen

The land comes first.

CELOR considers a site the way an architect would: by its light, its edges, its approach and its quiet. A place is in consideration only if it can hold a campus without strain.

Landscape
A setting with its own character, which the campus is planned to respect rather than replace.
Approach
Room for an arrival: a gate, a drive and a court that lower the pace before the door.
Proximity
Close to the roads people want to drive, and to the places they already spend their lives.
Calm
Privacy at the edges, and quiet within.
Permanence
Land that can be held for generations, by owners who intend to stay.

Further places

Still taking form.

CELOR is conceived as a family of places, each held to the same standard of hosting and stewardship. Each takes its character from its own landscape and its own owners. Further campuses are envisioned and will be shared as each one takes form.
